Scope and policy

In order to refer a manuscript for consideration and evaluation of academic peers, it has to be unpublished and not have been simultaneously submitted for publication to another national or international journal. These manuscripts must belong to either one of the categories described below:

Empirical articles: these are reports of original research; they generally contain different sections that reflect the phases within the research process and are presented with the following structure: introduction, method, results and discussion. The maximum number of words in this modality is 7000.

Theoretical articles: these are papers in which the author relies on existing research literature in order to make new conceptual contributions in any area of psychology. The author follows the development of knowledge on the subject to expand and refine theoretical constructs. Usually, the author presents a new theory, or alternatively, may also analyze existing theory. The maximum number of words in this modality is 7000.

Reflection articles: papers that present research results from an analytical, interpretative or critical perspective of the author on a specific topic, using original sources. The maximum number of words in this modality is 7000.

Review articles: documents resulting from research where the findings of published or unpublished research on a field of science or technology are analyzed, systematized and integrated, in order to report on progress and development trends. It is characterized by presenting a careful bibliographic review. The maximum number of words for this modality is 7000.

Form and preparation of manuscripts

Through written communication addressed to the Editor of Acta Colombiana de Psicología the author shall submit the paper sending the original version via https://actacolombianapsicologia.ucatolica.edu.co/about/submissions. The manuscript must comply with the international norms for presentation of manuscripts contained in the most updated version of the Publications Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA)

The first page of the document must include the following: title of the article (both in Spanish and English), author(s) institution, abstract, key words, and the postal address and author's e-mail as a footnote.

Sending of manuscripts

The author shall submit the paper sending the original version via https://actacolombianapsicologia.ucatolica.edu.co/about/submissions
