Objectives of the magazine interest areas: Multidisciplinary and history: The journal "Cuadernos de Desarrollo Rural" was born in 1978, as an initiative of a group of researchers of the Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Administrativas of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá - Colombia, South America, who proposed to the academic directives of the moment the creation of a print media that had as a purpose the spreading of the research results about the rural studies that were developing on our country. It was created with the name of Cuadernos de Agroindustria y Economía Rural which in the middle 90's was change for Cuadernos de Desarrollo Rural, to reflect the improvement on the rural topics that were taking place on the University. Right know the group of researchers and the journal belongs to a new faculty that is called Facultad de Estudios Ambientales y Rurales.

On this course of time, the journal has been improving its publishing and scientific quality incorporating to its Publishing, Scientific and Referees Committees national and international experts in each topic of the journal, what allows the published articles to pass through higher quality levels of evaluation. The form and presentation of the journal transform as well receiving attractive designs in the print version as in the digital version, as you can submit in this website.

Since 1979 the journal is published twice a year in an uninterrupted way. During these thirty years there have been published 59 installments. In a beginning there were published one thousand issues. Actually since the journal is published too in its digital form we print 300 issues.

This entire trajectory allows the journal to be one of the most consulted journals in the Iberoamerican scientific community.

Objective Public: Cuadernos de Desarrollo Rural is directed to professionals, teachers, researchers, students and the people interested in the topic of the journal. It is spread through out the most important associations, research groups, libraries and schools all over the country and the world.

Mission: Publishing and scientific quality, stability, visibility and access to Cuadernos de Desarrollo Rural allow:

• To Publish the most important research results about the theorical and practice advances of rural development in the Latin American and the world context.
• It contributes to regulate and to raise the quality of the researches.
• It spreads knowledge between the most important academic institutions, research centers and academic webs of knowledge all over the world.
• It contributes to improve the academic and research development related with the rural development topic in the world.

Editorial policy: Cuadernos de Desarrollo Rural is an academic journal of national and international circulation that publishes articles product of researches related with the Rural Development topic. Each article received is subdued to the judgment of two anonymous referees, one of them international. The judgment committee is composed by academic professionals with a big academic experience in specific areas of rural development. The evaluation is guided by this criterion:

• In contents for its importance and pertinence, its contribution and its conceptual and methodological rigor and depth.
• In what refers with the formal aspect, for the organization, style and easy reading.

The evaluation process and its criteria guarantee that the articles published in the journal Cuadernos de Desarrollo Rural to be of excellent quality.

Its abbreviated title is Cuad. Desarro. Rural, and it should be used in bibliographies, footnotes, references and bibliographic strips.
