INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

 

Scope and policy

Encuentros is a scholarly journal for the advancement of knowledge in the humanities and social sciences through the publication of research papers. For this purpose, its editorial board receives scientific texts sent by scholars from many places around the world and forwards them to peer reviewers outside the Universidad Autonoma del Caribe for blind peer revision, a process that guarantees the impartiality and rigor of the evaluation of those submitted articles for publication in future issues of the journal.

The seriousness and transparency of the selection process, as well as the quality of the research papers published in the journal, is acknowledged by indices such as Publindex, which ranks the journal in the B category.

The firm resolution of the editorial board of the journal is to help Encuentros ascend and rank amongst other national and international publications of its kind. The stated ethical endeavor is presently pursued, and it forms integral part of its philosophy, which permeates all its actions. Briefly stated, the purpose of the journal is to advance knowledge in the scholarly community of the humanities and social sciences.
