Íkala, journal of language and culture is a four-monthly serial academic publication since 2009. It was set up in 1996 as a means of expression for the publishing company of the School of Languages of the Universidad de Antioquia (Colombia).  Its aim is to communicate the trends, experiences and results of the theorizing and application of knowledge in both native and foreign languages and cultures.  Therefore, Íkala seeks to establish itself as a broadcasting medium, making public the intellectual works produced by members of the School of Languages and by the national and international community of knowledge.

The articles published in Íkala, journal of language and culture are indexed or summarized by:

Íkala, journal of language and culture is property of the University of Antioquia. This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater exchange of global knowledge.

Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:

a.Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
