Ingeniería y Competitividad (Engineering and Competitiveness) is a biannual science and technology publication of the Faculty of Engineering, Universidad del Valle, Cali, Colombia, that reports research developments in the various areas of engineering (e.g., chemical, civil, computer, electrical, electronics, environmental, food, industrial, materials, mechanical, sanitary, statistical, and systems engineering).

The journal receives contributions in Spanish or English. The journal accepts only three types of papers according to the criteria established by the Indexing Service of COLCIENCIAS for the incorporation and classification of Colombian journals of science and technology in the National Bibliographical Index Publindex:

Full-length research papers are typically comprised of five sections: 1. Introduction, 2. Methodology, 3. Results and discussion, 4. Conclusions, 5. Literature references.

Essay papers discuss specific research topics from the analytical and critical perspective of the authors, making use of original bibliographic sources.

Review papers present a thorough review of the literature on a specific topic, integrating and contrasting published research with the aim of giving an account on the level of achievement and development trends for that topic. These papers usually include a long list of bibliographic references.

Its abbreviated title is Ing.Compet., and it should be used in bibliographies, footnotes, references and bibliographic strips.
