Scope and policy
INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS The materials allowed for being published can be: Editorial. It is the section in which opinions, reflections on topics of interest or related to the magazine´s content can be expressed. The authors are usually part of Corporación Universitaria Lasallista´s staff or Área Metrolitana del Valle de Aburrá. Original Article. This includes research findings. The article must be structured into the following sections: Introduction, materials and methods, results and discussion. At the beginning of the article an abstract with a maximum of 250 words must be made, plus the key words in Spanish, English and Portuguese. It can have a maximum of five graphs and tables, and the number of pages must be from 10 to 15 (double space). A minimum of 10 references is also required. Brief Original Article. This section includes those articles limited to a maximum of 1000 words. They are usually preliminary briefs or collateral findings from research projects. Tables and graphs are restricted to a maximum of two. The abstract and key words will keep the format used for original articles. The maximum number of references is 10. Topic Review Article. It is a critical view to a topic. It can be divided according to its content, but must include: Introduction, conclusions and an 100 words not structured abstract with key words in Spanish, English and Portuguese. Graphs and tables are restricted to a maximum of five and the text can be distributed in a number between 10 and 15 pages, with at least 50 references. Case Reports. It presents the results of a study about particular situations, aiming to inform about the technical and methodological experiences considered in a specific case. It must include a review to the literature, with remarks, about similar cases. Its structure is the same used for original articles. The maximum number of references must be 10. Essays. Articles made to reflect about a topic related to research. They follow the same format used for topic review articles, but a shorter extension is recommended. Classics. Articles that have been influential for the development of research. The abstract and key words must follow the format used for topic review articles. Methodological Aspects. This section includes the articles which main function is enlightening about methodologies used in research processes. Their structure is the same used for topic review articles. News. Reports about events or activities related to research can be reported if they are interesting for the academic community. Letters to the Editor. This section aims to stimulate the interaction between the editorial committee and the users of the magazine. It is a discussion forum about interesting topics developed in the magazine. The letters must have a title, a text, the relation of the author with the institution and references, if necessary. Excerpt. Brief texts with a maximum of 300 words, taken from research works not published in their full extension. |
Form and preparation of manuscripts
INSTRUCTIONS TO PRESENT ARTICLES Title page It is essential to include the following information in the first page of the article:
This information must be complemented with the academic degrees, position and current institution in which every author works. The principal author must include an e-mail address, in case that editors or readers want to contact him/her. Also, the place and the date in which the research work took place must be included, and the entity that financed the work, if necessary. Abstract and key words in Spanish An abstract in Spanish must be made. For original articles and original brief articles, the abstract must be structured and have a maximum of 250 words. Introduction, objective, materials and methods, results and main conclusions must be indicated. For topic review articles, essays, methodological aspects and classics, the abstract is not structured and must have less than 100 words. In all cases, the abstract must have a number between three and six key words to indentify the topic. Title, abstract and key words in translated into English and Portuguese The title, abstract and key words must be translated into English and Portuguese. Text of the article When the article is a research report, it must be structured as follows:
References References must be placed in the text with the corresponding number as a superscript, according to the order of appearance of every citation. The references section must appear in sheets separated from those of the text, and must be numbered in a consecutive way, according to the order of citations in the documentary material. La revista Producción + Limpia follows the NTC 5613 and NTC 4490 standards from ICONTEC for the presentation of references, content, form and structure, and for documentary references applied to electronic information sources, respectively, from July, 2008. |
