^les^aEn este artículo, a través del análisis de casos de niños apropiados que fueron entregados en adopción durante la última dictadura militar argentina (1976-1983), se indagan los dispositivos institucionales, las rutinas burocráticas y los sentidos sociales prevalecientes en aquellos años en torno a esa figura legal. Para ello se describen y contextualizan los valores asociados a la adopción, las narrativas sobre el abandono de niños y los procedimientos y prácticas habituales, que conformaban el ámbito en donde la apropiación criminal de niños se engarzó en una normalidad admitida e intentó ser legalizada.^len^aBy analyzing cases of appropriated children who were put up for adoption during the last military dictatorship in Argentina (1976-1983), this article examines the institutional machinery, bureaucratic routines, and the prevailing social feelings during those years with regard to these adoptions. It describes and contextualizes the values associated with adoption, the narratives about child abandonment, and the everyday procedures and practices that formed the environment in which the criminal appropriation of children was normalized and attempted to be made legal.
