CORTES BALLEN, Lorena Andrea. An Approach to the Urban Wetland Landscape of Bogotá in the Context of the City’s Main Ecological Structure. []. , 27, 1, pp.118-130. ISSN 0121-215X.  https://doi.org/10.15446/rcdg.v27n1.60584.

Wetlands are ecosystems that have played a fundamental role in the development of communities due to their close relation to water. In Bogotá D.C., the distribution of wetlands corresponds to a broad altitudinal gradient and it is ordered according to the District’s Main Ecological Structure. The article carries out a reflection on the importance of evaluating landscape studies for the environmental ordering of Bogotá, with an emphasis on the wetland fragments found in the city. At the landscape level, wetlands are strategic ecosystems that allow for the ecosystemic connectivity of a land cover mosaic, and they are represented as protected natural areas of the District in an ever-developing urban matrix that jeopardizes their preservation.
