Spain has become the main place for Latin- American emigration today. The present article illustrates the characteristics of the immigrant population’s labour market in by using a case-study based on the city of Alcalá de Henares. The determinants of such situation are questioned and some aspects regarding such collective’s working conditions are looked at. The theoretical part of the article deals with considering the existence of inequality of opportunity leading to immigrants’ work trajectories being affected by determined labourmarket segments.
