VALERO, Edgar Augusto    CAMACHO REYES, Karina. The darkside of the Colombian floriculture sector's corporate social responsability practices. []. , 16, 27, pp.73-90. ISSN 0121-5051.

Colombian floriculture is mainly located on the savannah of Bogotá; it has maintained an important presence in international markets for several decades. Such link with globalisation has placed sector entrepreneurs within a scenario which has led to frequent questioning and discussion concerning work and environmental problems arising from their processes. Advances have thus been made in trying to establish Corporate Social Responsibility practices such as codes of behaviour and guarantees of quality. Considering the sector's working situation, it could be supposed that these practices would have contributed towards some type of improvement. However, only limited advances have been made due to a simply defensive approach being adopted and emphasis being placed on managing the image arising from these activities within a context emphasising a marked orientation towards cost flexibility and the lack of recognising the workers predominates, accompanied by the lack of social dialogue.
