This article was aimed at identifying conceptual planning for studying strategic groups and their analysis variables, highlighting the role which such groups could play in analysing entrepreneurial competence/competition within an industrial sector. The main work done to date was reviewed and classified for developing conceptual support for future applied research, the intention being to reflect on applying the concept to a Colombian setting.
