PENA MIRANDA, David Daniel    SERRA CANTALLOPS, Antoni. The Practice of Corporate Social Responsibility: Case Study in the Tourism Sector. []. , 23, 49, pp.101-114. ISSN 0121-5051.

The interest generated by the study of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the academic world during the last decade is evident. However, in the scientific literature, the sectorial studies and researches in the subject, and even more in tourism industry, are very scarce. Given this reality, this study aims to contribute to the analysis, discussion and modeling of epistemic and practical CSR in tourism and more specifically in the hospitality industry. There was an extensive review of the literature related to theories and models of CSR management and then it was applied the case method for the empirical research in a hosting company in Santa Marta, Colombia. The results of the study show an analysis for the hotel in CRS. The conclusion is that the company is more near the proactivity than legal reactivity, since it begins to carry out practices of social responsibility that it is not forced to realize by law. In the same way, it applies a tactical social responsibility and has an average level of responsibility social with their stakeholder according to qualitative and quantitative assessments of the study. The present investigation, a pioneer in the field of the geographical context of action, was applied in the hotel firm with more historical trajectory in the city.
