PARDO, Antonio. ETHICS IN MEDICINE. []. , 15, 2, pp.166-183. ISSN 0123-3122.

Medicine has existed since time immemorial, because falling ill is part of the essence of man and aiding one another is an indispensible element of human life in society. Accordingly, the physician working with the sick owes them negative respect (to do no harm) and positive respect (to help in the disease), with technical competence, honesty and integrity. The physician must serve as humanely as possible, being obliged to do so by the patient's dependence.
