BIRCHE, Mariana. Analysis of the distribution of urban street trees in La Plata, Argentina. []. , 24, 2, pp.106-115.   26--2022. ISSN 1657-0308.  https://doi.org/10.14718/revarq.2022.24.3465.

The spatial distribution of public trees in La Plata is analyzed, understanding it as one of the fundamental factors in the construction of quality public spaces and as a pleasing factor in the perception of these spaces by the inhabitants, thanks to its high valuation in landscape quality as shown in various studies on the quality of the landscape which propose vegetation as one of the most valuable elements. Therefore, it was sought to identify the areas with the greatest deficiencies in terms of urban trees through a georeferenced inventory and, also, to compare these quantitative data with those obtained in a survey of the population. The results showed a significant numerical disparity in the number of trees between the city center and the outskirts of the city. In addition, other aspects could be inferred, such as the relationship between the occupation of the plot and the existence of urban trees, which shows the role of civil society as promoter and developer of public trees.
