The objective of this research was to pack sesame seeds (Sesamum indicum L.) in Silobag bags, assessing their initial qualitative characteristics and after thirty to sixty days of storage at ambient conditions and hold at 30°C. The tests were done in triplicate, following the official methods of analysis, the average values were reported. Statistical analysis indicated no significant differences from the initial values and those evaluated after thirty days of storage at ambient conditions, in terms of fiber content (3,98 ± 0,06 vs 4,16 ± 0,13), protein (18,86 ± 0,07 vs 19,71 ± 0,89), moisture (5,96 ± 0,06 vs 6,11 ± 0,11), fat (38,58 ± 0,58 vs 37,49 ± 0.27) and carbohydrates (31,6 ± 0,14 vs. 30,76 ± 0,68). If there was some variation as time progressed the test. It was concluded that Silobag bags may be recommended to pack and store in warehouse sesame or leave it in the open, because they protect the product against external agents keeping its initial basic features, which represents a solution with potential economic benefits for conservation this food.
