CUADROS PARADA, Zamara    SANCHEZ RIOS, Hernán. Conceptual Perspectives in studies of emotions during the first year of life. []. , 12, 1, pp.105-116. ISSN 1692-5858.

This paper presents an analytical balance of research addressing the emotions of children in the first year of life carried out during the last forty years in the framework of Developmental Psychology. To serve this purpose, the authors review relevant research in the field of knowledge and identify the conceptualization of emotions underlying the studies, methodological resources that guide the work, the techniques of data collection and analysis units privileged. These inputs allow you to build an array of conceptual analysis to establish trends, consistency in methodology resources, meeting points and polarities between perspectives. The results reveal six views in studies of the emotions of children during the first year of life: biological, functionalist, cognitive, evolutionary, semiotic and dynamic systems. Similarly, the analysis shows the relationship between the perspectives that structure and affinities contradictions related to classic polarities in the study of child development: innate - acquired, endogenous - exogenous, experiment - observation. An important conclusion of the article is that beyond the demarcation of borders between perspectives, continued efforts are evident to integrate findings that lead to a comprehensive understanding of the emotional world of the child in the first year of life and a growing interest in exploring the emotions and their development from the perspective of nonlinear dynamic systems.
