SANCHEZ PEREZ, Paola Cristina. Modern concepts of revolution and progress Notes for philosophical - historical analysis of the Colombian context twentieth century: the revolution in progress (1934-1938). []. , 6, 2, pp.121-132. ISSN 2145-7719.

Events and concepts with they are named are elements of history. It can be viewed from Modernity how both elements coexist reciprocally in history because, first one: men use the concepts of their linguistically baggage to name actions, experiences and desires; second one: concepts enlarge its semantically content when, in this linguistically articulation process, they are used to name human actions charged with a novel sense: never thought nor made before; so, the concept that names them gets enlarged to include the novel element. It is deducted that concepts have history and reviewing that history allows to understand how concepts are coupled and used to name and to relate some events and historical moments. For example, to analyze the concepts of Revolution and Progress, and to extract notes that allow to understand how it was possible that they passed the Colombian political history in the first half of XX century.
