Abstract

GRANADOS VASQUEZ, Luis  and  AUZA BENAVIDES, Alejandra. Assessment of the morphological knowledge by means of the SPELT-II test in Spanish- speaking pre-school and school children of public and private schools. Leng. [online]. 2012, vol.40, n.1, pp.183-208. ISSN 0120-3479.

Landmarks on morphological development were analyzed in two groups of Spanish-speaking children with different socioeconomic background, to whom the SPELT-II was applied. It was also studied if this test is useful to evaluate morphological development between four and ten years of age. Results demonstrated that there were no significant differences between both socioeconomic groups. With this test, but only by means of some of its items, the development can be observed between four and six years, but not in subsequent ages. Implications have an impact on researchers and clinical people who work with children with and without language impairment

Keywords : Morphological development; Spanish-speaking children; morphological instrument; socioeconomic status.
