The purpose of this article is to show the results of a qualitative research study carried out with school-age children of immigrants to France, who are going to be incorporated into the French school system (ENAF: élèves nouvellement arrivés en France). The main goal of this study was to implement pedagogical activities based on the intercultural approach to achieve a more effective and smoother integration process for these immigrant children. With this purpose in mind, an action research study was undertaken to describe ENAF situation first, and then evaluate the research problem. After the implementation of the action plan and administration of the questionnaires, it was confirmed that the intercultural approach is a driving force that can help increase motivation and curiosity for the target language and culture.
