Abstract
DABOS, Guillermo Enrique and RIVERO, Andrea Gabriela. Idiosyncratic deals in the attraction and retention of talent: three studies of knowledge -intensive organizations in Argentina. estud.gerenc. [online]. 2012, vol.28, n.125, pp.3-12. ISSN 0123-5923.
The present study examines the presence of idiosyncratic deals in the employment contracts negotiated by knowledge -intensive organizations in Argentina. Data were collected from three independent studies in different environments: top and middle managers within the context of an executive MBA, highly -skilled employees in the area of software and information technology, and research scientists from a prestigious institution of science and technology. Results inform about the growing presence of idiosyncratic deals in the employment contracts of these knowledge workers as well as the time, content and scope of the specific terms negotiated. This study concludes by discussing the impact of idiosyncratic deals for the organization's Human Resource strategy and by presenting the theoretical and practical implications associated with their effective implementation.
