Abstract

The main purpose of this article is to analyze the adjustment process of Costa Rican minor children placed for adoption in Spain by the Patronato Nacional de la Infancia (National Council for Childhood) during the year 2003.The impact .of the adjustment process in the evolution of the adoptive family and the socio-cultural integration is identified, as well as the adjustment in the development of minor children subsequent to adoption. Furthermore, guidelines to strengthen the adoption process of these children are provided in order to facilitate their adjustment to the adoptive families
