Abstract
MARTINEZ-ALGECIRAS, KAREN ADRIANA and RODRIGUEZ- JIMENEZ, OLGA ROSALBA. EXPLORATORY ANALYSIS OF VALIDITY OF THE INVENTORY OF ANXIETY SITUATIONS AND RESPONSES (ISRA) ADAPTED. Act.Colom.Psicol. [online]. 2013, vol.16, n.1, pp.57-66. ISSN 0123-9155.
An exploratory analysis of the Inventario de Situaciones y Respuestas de Ansiedad (ISRA) [Inventory of Anxiety Situations and Responses (ISRA)] was carried out in order to get acquainted with the instrument's psychometric quality and behavior after having performed its adjustment to a Colombian context by means of expert judgment. The sample consisted of 333 people from different educational and socioeconomic backgrounds. Results show that the ISRA has high levels of internal consistency for the total scale (α = 0.92), and for each system response: cognitive α= 0.88, motor α = 0.77 and physiological α = 0.85. In relation to the internal structure of the instrument for the triple system response, two factors that correspond with the original structure are retained and explain 52% of the variance, whereas for the anxiety situations, a single factor is retained with very little accordance with the original. With the evidence obtained it is concluded that the instrument has adequate reliability and validity related to the triple response system, features that allow its use as an instrument to assess anxiety.
