Abstract
BRAVO-IBARRA, Edna Rocío; LEON-ARENAS, Adriana Paola and SERRANO-CARDENAS, Lizeth Fernanda. Open innovation: advantages and critical success factors. Entramado [online]. 2014, vol.10, n.2, pp.44-59. ISSN 1900-3803.
The purpose of this paper is to identify success factors and advantages of Open Innovation process within a parsimonious framework of organizational innovation linking four constructs of innovation determinants - Leadership, Managerial Levers, Business Processes, and Business Model. All the academic articles published in the ISI Web of Science database until 2013 under the title of 'open innovation' were systematically reviewed. NVIVO, a computer-aided text analysis (CATA) Software program, was used to code the data. In spite of the fact that there is a rising interest related wit the use of the open innovation view in leading organizations, a multidimensional framework of the academic publications in the area does not seem to exist yet. That is the reason why this paper is intended to fill the mentioned gap by doing a systematic literature review. The results reveal that there is a tendency towards a tautological definition and application of the open innovation term. However, there is a great potential for further theoretical development in the open innovation field because a growing body of practical oriented work is still required in many contexts, especially in the service industries.
