Abstract

RODRIGUEZ FAJARDO, Jorge  and  PADRON MERCADO, Jorge. Respuesta inmune en el abordaje laparoscópico vs. abordaje abierto en la cirugía para cáncer colorrectal. Rev Col Gastroenterol [online]. 2005, vol.20, n.2, pp.71-74. ISSN 0120-9957.

Laparoscopic resection for colorectal cancer has been considered nowadays the best option in terms of less postoperative pain, less ileum, and less recovery time with the same oncologic results to the open approach. Also laparoscopic approach implies less impaired immune response to surgical stress. Some investigators developed an issue in rats to compare the open approach   vs. laparoscopic approach watching the cellular and inflammatory response against tumoral cells in vitro. They found and interesting preservation in both approaches. Compare these molecular studies with some clinical papers that showed better oncologic results with laparoscopic approach in colorectal cancer face us to the new-old concern in colorectal cancer: molecular immune response could be the reason to improve the prognosis in colorectal cancer and laparoscopic approach the best way.

Keywords : Laparoscopic cancer; Immune response; Hypersensitivity delay response; Minimal Invasive Surgery.
