Abstract
RESTREPO P, Antonio J et al. Ulcerative colitis asociated with cutaneous manifestations. Rev Col Gastroenterol [online]. 2006, vol.21, n.4, pp.300-305. ISSN 0120-9957.
Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) is an ulcerating skin lesion of cause unknown described in 1930 by Brunsting, Goeckerman and OrLeary (1). The importance of the diagnosis is in its association with diseases such as the ulcerative colitis (UC) (1-2), Crohn disease(CD) (3), arthritis (4) and hematological neoplasia (5), in addition to its cutaneous commitment that can be severe. Because of, the low incidence of this manifestation, there are few antecedents on the long term course of this disease (6). We reported two cases of patients with Pyoderma gangrenosum (PG), like first clinical manifestation of Ulcerative colitis; considering its low association with Inflamatory Bowel Diseases (1% to 5%); and because the physician, could be confused with the extraintestinal manifestations of the Inflamatory Bowel Disease (5).
