This article aims to review the standards of testimonial evidence for individuals with mental disabilities in Colombia based on the rights-focused social model. The research supporting this text has a descriptive scope. The method used is documentary-descriptive, employing primary and secondary sources such as legal norms, national jurisprudence, and national and international literature. Through the investigation, it has been possible to demonstrate the impact and legal implications that the social model of disability has on the autonomy of people with disabilities and the implementation of necessary supports to ensure inclusion.
