Abstract

Objective:
To validate the appearance and c0ntent of the didactic and instructional technology entitled Peripheral venous puncture for the family with accompanying relatives of hospitalized children.
Method:
This is a methodological study of the technology validation type. Participants were accompanying relatives of hospitalized children undergoing peripheral intravenous catheterization. The analysis and data collection were performed based on the content validity index, considering a desirable value equal to and greater than 0.80.
Results:
The booklet was validated in the first round, obtaining maximum indexes in most variables with a global content validation index of 0.98. However, some relatives pointed out changes to be made in the material.
Conclusion:
The objective proposed by the study was achieved since the booklet is validated as to its appearance following the evaluation of the target audience.
