Abstract
PARRA-O., CARLOS. General survey of the native flora of Puerto Carreño (Vichada, Colombia). Caldasia [online]. 2006, vol.28, n.2, pp.165-177. ISSN 0366-5232.
A general survey of native angiosperms and a broad description of vegetation types for Puerto Carreño ( Vichada, Colombia ) are presented. For each vegetation type the dominant species and their qualitative abundance were recorded. For each species annotations including habitat and distribution within the vegetation types were included. The families with the highest species number are Poaceae (61 species, 29 genera), Papilionaceae (15 species, 13 genera), Cyperaceae (13 species, 6 genera), and Caesalpiniaceae (9 species, 8 genera). The best represented genera are Paspalum (Poaceae, 11 species), Cyperus (Cyperaceae, 7 species), Eragrostis (Poaceae, 7 species), Axonopus (Poaceae, 6 species), and Panicum (Poaceae, 6 species). The records reveal for the first time the presence of Drosera sessilifolia A. St.-Hil., Eugenia amblyosepala McVaugh, Eugenia emarginata (Kunth) DC., and Plinia involucrata (O. Berg) McVaugh in Colombia . Finally, a discussion about the distribution of the existing flora in the area is made, providing special emphasis on the species of the Guayana shield remnants.
