Abstract
LOPEZ HURTADO, Jhonier; ARIAS MURILLO, Juan Camilo and QUINTERO SALAZAR, Edwin Andrés. Interactive electronic energy meter for residential use. Prospect. [online]. 2016, vol.14, n.1, pp.61-72. ISSN 1692-8261. https://doi.org/10.15665/rp.v14i1.639.
This paper presents the development of an electronic energy meter for residential use; that gives the end user the ability to understand the behavior of energy consumption at home. The built system involves the integrated circuit ADE7753 from Analog Devices as a central module for electronic measurement of energy consumption, and the Microchip PIC18F2550 microcontroller for configuration and calibration of ADE7753 and control and data processing circuit. The system has a display and a graphical user interface via USB communication allows control time billing periods, carry the backing of the processed information, display the current consumption in real time, generate a historical consumption and calculate the approximate cost of the active energy recorded. To validate system performance, field and laboratory testing for different loads and times of measurement is executed, and used as standard equipment electricity meter previously calibrated by INELCA SA, yielding an average percentage error of 0.09940% in the measured energy.
