GARCIA-SOLARTE, Mónica; SALAS-ARBELAEZ, Laura and OROZCO-ESCOBAR, Henry. The manager's gender impact on organizational performance: analysis in SMEs. Entramado [online]. 2020, vol.16, n.1, pp.12-26. ISSN 1900-3803. https://doi.org/10.18041/1900-3803/entramado.1.6062.
From the participation of women in the labor market, the gender perspective has been a factor of analysis in organizational studies. The present investigation determines the impact of the gender of the manager in the organizational performance in the SMEs of Santiago de Cali, Colombia, applying qualitative and quantitative methodologies, reviewing the academic literature between the years 20I2-20I7 and applying simple linear regressions to the data obtained through a questionnaire, based on the performance measurement mode of Quinn and Rohrbaugh, and applied to 354 SMEs in the city Finally the findings found in previous research were compared with the study developed quantitatively on SMEs in Santiago de Cali, Colombia. It is concluded that there are positive variations in the performance of SMEs according to the gender of the manager and according to the analysis variables implemented, in the context of local business development. For this reason, managers of SMEs must contrast the local environment with their internal elements and, from this, restructure their policies to reduce the gender gap in the workplace.
