This article seeks to reflect about the best soil -the clay- removed from earth in all parts of the world, under the focus of its transformation, its presence and its re-composition in space through art. Resorting interviews with two Colombian ceramic artists, I will develop an approach to subjects such as the environment, creation through the inspiration of nature, the gaze at the land and the voice of the artist as a strategy of evocation, as a way of production of a knowledge often considered in the contemporary artistic field. It was established upon notions ruin, desolation, near-irreparable loss, as a place of destruction of clay for pottery recreation, and its possible return to dust, intended here as an environmental reconfiguration and how these life cycles inspire pottery artists.
Keywords : pottery; eco-art; artistic creation; to touch.
