Abstract

This study aimed to identify the variety of motivational aspects that can be implemented in Virtual Learning Environments. A quantitative research paradigm was used, based on the experimental model, where the independent variable is the stimulus (motivation) and the dependent variable is the result obtained in the brain fields displaying activation. The Microsoft Excel office suite with the data analysis tool was used for statistical analysis. The study showed a slight increase in brain activity in the prefrontal area of the right hemisphere, moderate in the temporal and parietal areas of the same hemisphere, and slight in the central and frontal areas in both hemispheres. The frontal area is related to the construction and designs of objects and figures, as well as to the working memory for visual material. This suggests that people must be stimulated in different ways, including motivational aspects, to generate optimal states in the brain for learning processes. Therefore, techno-pedagogical strategies can be defined for the design of courses that improve attention, have an impact on meaningful learning and guarantee permanence in the virtual modality.
