Abstract

MEGLIO, Fernanda Di. Science-Technology Linkage Profiles of Universities in the Buenos Aires Conurbation: A Comparative Perspective. Trilogía. Cienc. Tecnol. Soc. [online]. 2023, vol.15, n.31, e205.  Epub May 14, 2024. ISSN 2145-7778.  https://doi.org/10.22430/21457778.2831.

In recent years, the science-technology linkages of universities have become essential tools to contribute to the economic and social development of their territories. However, the style and form of organization of existing universities are not homogeneous. In general, studies in this field have focused on universities that have highly dynamic linkages with the manufacturing sector, creating the image of a generalized pattern of institutional management that does not always match the dynamics and realities of universities that are smaller or located in unequal economic contexts. Considering this situation, the present study aims to analyze the university profile established in the science-technological linkage policy at four medium-sized universities in the Buenos Aires conurbation-institutions that have been little explored in the literature. In methodological terms, this was a comparative case study that prioritized a qualitative approach. The results showed that the universities studied here have moved away from the traditional model of linkage exclusively associated with companies. Instead, the type of linkage they develop is more social-productive and territorial, determining the programs, objectives, and actors they interact with.

Keywords : Institutional profile; universities-Buenos Aires conurbation; science-technology linkage.
