Abstract

ORTIZ TOBON, Juan Felipe. Medicación antigotosa para agresión refractaria en pacientes autistas . rev.colomb.psiquiatr. [online]. 2002, vol.31, n.3, pp.219-224. ISSN 0034-7450.

Aggressive behavior seen in autism, could be refractary to carrera therapies. Adenosine, a neuromodulator purine, has proven to be an antiaggressive substance in animal modéls. The purine pathways are defective in some diseases that show automutilation. Allopurinol could increase adenosine levéis by an indirect mechanism and thus be effective as an antiaggression drug. Autistic patiets with these behaviors could improve with this drug.

Keywords : aggression ; allopurinol, autistic disorders ; therapeutic ; adenosine .
