Abstract
MAYA, CLAUDIA MARÍA. IF GREEN REFUSES TO PAINT THE LEAVES, WILL RED STILL COLOR BLOOD? LITERATURE AND COMMITMENT IN SARTRE AND ADORNO. Ideas y Valores [online]. 2015, vol.64, n.158, pp.41-59. ISSN 0120-0062. https://doi.org/10.15446/ideasyvalores.v64n158.41016.
In response to the question "What is literature?", Sartre proposes the concept of unity as the exclusive characteristic that relates it to society by means of commitment. This exclusivity is analyzed, along with Adorno's objections to the notion of commitment. In the midst of great differences, some affinities are found that permit the establishment of the relationship between literature and society.
Keywords : J.P. Sartre; Th. Adorno; literature; society.
