Abstract

BALZA, ISABEL. IF THIS IS A COW FEMINISM AND BIOPOLITICS OF FLESH. Ideas y Valores [online]. 2020, vol.69, n.172, pp.151-167.  Epub Mar 20, 2020. ISSN 0120-0062.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ideasyvalores.v69n172.63847.

In this article, I analyze the common ontological/biopolitical structure shared by human and non-human animals, starting out from the discussion of the concept of flesh. To that effect, I resort to material feminisms and to the theoretical findings of animal rights feminism. I also examine the notion of "enclosure" as a biopolitical concept that produces a new kind of living being. All of this serves to formulate a positive sense of the concept of incarnation that allows for the construction of a (human and non-human) animal community.

Keywords : animalism; animacy; flesh; enclosure; material feminisms.
