Abstract

PEREZ A, BERNARDO. Alternatives to globalization: another world is necessary. Theol. Xave. [online]. 2008, vol.58, n.166, pp.467-496. ISSN 0120-3649.

A reflection is here established on the three alternatives offered to a global situation which is ecologically and morally unsustainable. The idea is to show such possible alternatives, which can be labelled continuist, reformist and rupturist. For this the methodology of the social sciences is adopted, with attention to the economical, sociological and ideological elements that conform the postmodern globalized world. The present investigation does not surpass its epistemological limits: it is a clarification of the world in which we live, as a preface to a future theological reflection. The author understands that the rupturist way allows an organization of the world more in accordance with the Gospel principles, because he believes that another world is necessary.

Keywords : Alternative; capitalism; globalization; world order; postmodenity.
