Abstract

MEZA-RUEDA, José Luis; SUAREZ-MEDINA, Gabriel Alfonso  and  MARTINEZ-MORALES, Víctor. Working in Theology with the Perspective of the Participatory Action Research. Theol. Xave. [online]. 2017, vol.67, n.183, pp.141-161. ISSN 0120-3649.  https://doi.org/10.11144/javeriana.tx67-183.htdiap.

A large sector o theologians consider that the purpose of Theology is the interpretation of history from the revelation’s horizon. Similarly, people working in Social Sciences are wondering about the possibility of a critical perspective capable of giving recognition and participation to the subjects involved in social problems and phenomena of their interest. In this perspective, the Participatory Action Research (PAR) seeks to promote awareness in participants and empowerment of communities in order to promote change. The coincidence with the purpose of our Theology in its desire to reach just and human social designs towards an Eschatology that seeks for the complete liberation of human beings, has led us to explore whether PAR could be a valid method for working in Theology.
