Abstract

VAN TREEK, Mike. Sara Against Ezra: A Critical Reading Within the Biblical Canon of the Second Temple. Theol. Xave. [online]. 2017, vol.67, n.183, pp.163-185. ISSN 0120-3649.  https://doi.org/10.11144/javeriana.tx67-183.scelcc.

In this paper, the author faces the Biblical narrative of Abraham, Sarah and Hagar with narratological tools. He reads these texts (Gn 11, 26-25,18) in the context of the Second Temple canon. The author believes that the complexity of all characters, their moral ambiguity and the intraceability of Abraham’s seed question some rigid ideas about the cultural and narrative identity of Israel.

Keywords : Narratology; Literary Anthropology; Parentage; Migration.
