Abstract

SMERLING, TAMARA. Ten Years of Concentration of Ownership in Rosario: From Being Argentine's Press Doyen to Becoming the Multimedia Giant Known as La Capital. Signo pensam. [online]. 2010, vol.29, n.57, pp.520-536. ISSN 0120-4823.

The processes through which mass media were monopolized in Rosario started in 1997 with the arrival of Grupo Uno. From then onwards, the city, with a population of a million and a half, counts with ten companies centralized by the aforementioned Mendoza province's holding. This fact, closely related to political and economic power, creates a constant tensions vis-a-vis freedom of speech, plurality of voices, and the people's right to be informed.
