Abstract
ECHEVERRY PEREZ, Antonio José. THE PYX OF SAN JUAN BAUTISTA AND FIRST FRANCISCAN PROGRESSION, IN THE NEW KINGDOM OF GRANADA. Anu.hist.reg.front. [online]. 2013, vol.18, n.2, pp.269-291. ISSN 0122-2066.
The study of religious history in America should consider reviewing the role played by religious orders within the projects of indoctrination and hispanización Americans. It is for this reason that this article focuses on the Franciscan order, specifically the arrival of the first priests in the New Kingdom of Granada in the mid-sixteenth century and in the process of expanding its project of evangelization, especially considering there is still no clarity on everyday administrative aspects surrounding the future of the order in this period.
