The importance of Oil Palm cultivation in Colombia has impacted both the physical expansion and the transformation of the development processes generated in the territories where it has been established. Evidence presented in particular in the municipality of Puerto Wilches (Santander) where the coexistence of different territo- rial dynamics associated with the cultivation of oil palm is reported since the 1960s.
The results presented below are part of a research process that allowed the historical reconstruction of territorial dynamics that occurred between 1960 and 2016 in the municipality associated with the crop. In the exercise, primary and secondary information was used that allowed, through qualitative analysis and from the actors involved, to reconstruct the processes of territorial transformation and provide valu- able inputs for the collective construction of the vision of the territory in terms of its development.
