This article studies the historical process of the celebration of Independence Day in Sinaloa, Mexico, through two generations that were in charge of the staging of the splendor of power; although they also functioned as bastions of the political dissidence that gave birth to the Sinaloan revolutionary movement. The civic ritual had two phases, one that goes from 1888 to 1903, characterized by the rise of patriotic fervor; and the second extends from 1904 to 1910, marked by the Centennial of Independence.
