Abstract
ZAMBRANO, Jusmeidy and GUERRERO, Rosmar. Writing in University: A Review of Research made by University of Los Andes, Venezuela. Íkala [online]. 2015, vol.20, n.3, pp.385-398. ISSN 0123-3432. https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.ikala.v20n3a07.
A review of teachers' publications from Universidad de Los Andes (Venezuela) is presented here in order to account for the current status of research on academic writing among undergraduate population. The corpus is built from 35 publications. With the analysis of theoretical and methodological perspectives as a starting point, we intend to contextualize these studies in order to foster dialogue based upon underlying contributions, achievements, trends, disciplines, and challenges. The results show a prevailing research trend focused on textual and cognitive aspects of writing, and also in issue diagnosis and assessment. For the most part, field studies are approached by faculties of humanities and education, in the language subject area, or as individual endeavors. However, a new trend is emerging, which is oriented towards academic literacy, that is, towards writing in various disciplines following an interdisciplinary approach.
Keywords : academic writing; academic literacy; cognitive; sociocultural approach and textual genres.
