This article illustrates a brief summary about diabetes. It discusses the types of this disease, the ways of treating it and the role that psychology plays in its treatment. It also shows a revision of the literature concerning the relationship between diabetes and the presence of psychological disorders such as: depression, anxiety and eating disorders. Important matters about the diagnosis and treatment of psychological disorders in diabetic adults, as well as clinical and research recommendations for health psychology are also found in this article.
