Abstract
ROTTENBACHER DE ROJAS, Jan Marc and CORDOVA CACERES, César. Authoritarianism and Justification of Inequality as Ideological Conditionants of Political Deliberation and Political Participation. Av. Psicol. Latinoam. [online]. 2014, vol.32, n.3, pp.495-513. ISSN 1794-4724. https://doi.org/dx.doi.org/10.12804/apl32.03.2014.10.
In a representative sample from Lima - Peru (N = 634), this study analyzed the influence of political ideology on conventional political deliberation and online political deliberation. We also analyzed the effect produced by these two types of political deliberation on the levels of conventional political participation and online political participation. As ideological measures, we used scales of right-wing authoritarianism (RWA) and justification of inequality. Using structural equations models, this article proposes that a higher level of authoritarianism and a higher tendency to justify inequality influence negatively in political deliberation. Also, higher levels of political deliberation have a positive effect on both types of political participation.
