Abstract
CHACON ROJAS, GERARDO; YANEZ, JOSÉ ANTONIO and FERNANDEZ CARDENAS, JUAN MANUEL. Factors impeding the implementation of technology in the classroom. Zona prox. [online]. 2014, n.20, pp.108-118. ISSN 2145-9444.
This paper shows the results of a research aimed at identifying the factors that prevent teachers from implementing technological resources in the classroom. The study was carried out with the participation of teachers, parents and students from the Centro Educativo Alto Quebradón, Caquetá, Colombia. The methodological approach used was the mixed one, because data were collected by using both quantitative techniques (surveys) and qualitative ones (observations, diaries, and interviews). This research process was important for teaching because it has given information about some administrative and functional problems, which make it difficult to apply, in rural zones, different technological resources that could facilitate the processes of socialization and communication of information. Results show that factors such as lack of training in the use of various technological tools and the lack of technological infrastructure prevent teachers from using this kind of resources in the teaching-learning processes.
