Introduction: This article reports on ongoing reflection that as a teacher of the Chair of Nursing aimed at first and three level students of the School of Nursing of the UCC Bucaramanga, have been provided for reorient, redesign and restructure teaching and learning, allowing who enters the academic process in this professional field, can achieve higher levels of theoretical and practical understanding and therefore decrease the risk of repetition, unevenness or the worst desertion of the race. Thus arises the idea of seeking a strategy to shorten the gap between the student's existing knowledge, the acquisition of knowledge, their work in the practice of nursing and to be professional. Materials and Methods: Reflection article, which explains the use of narrative in the teaching of college-level nursing. Results: the articles reviewed and experience show that narrative helps that can describe the nursing process more understandable and according to their own experience of each caregiver. Discussion: It requires conviction and nursing professional example for the student adopt conduct training for the application of the nursing process. Conclusions: Although little has been published on the use of narrative in relation to the nursing process, each day increase submissions concerning this relatively new experience in this discipline, showing careful descriptions.
