Abstract
GARCIA-MARTINEZ, JUAN SEBASTIÁN; GOMEZ-RODRIGUEZ, ESMERALDA and VESGA-ANGARITA, BORIS EDUARDO. A coronary aneurysm in an unusual location associated with acute myocardial infarction. Acta Med Colomb [online]. 2021, vol.46, n.1, pp.45-48. Epub June 16, 2021. ISSN 0120-2448. https://doi.org/10.36104/amc.2021.1941.
We present a clinical case with difficult treatment. A young male patient with type II obesity was admitted due to acute coronary syndrome with ST elevation. Coronariography showed an aneurysm on the coronary trunk suggestive of having a thrombus inside. It was treated with a glycoprotein IIb/IIIa antagonist. The patient progressed to acute heart failure managed with inotropes and vasopressors. A second coronariography showed complete disappearance of the thrombotic component. He was prescribed antiplatelet and antithrombotic treatment as secondary prevention. To date, the management of these patients has been a challenge, given the possibility of experiencing a new thrombotic event due to altered intracoronary laminar flow. (Acta Med Colomb 2021; 46.
