Abstract
MARTINEZ-SILVA, Pablo A; MONTOYA-CHICA, Pablo J and CAICEDO-SANDOVAL, Erica B. Health in the comprehensive life plans: an exploratory study of four indigenous organizations in the Vaupés territory. Rev. Fac. Nac. Salud Pública [online]. 2015, vol.33, n.3, pp.335-344. ISSN 0120-386X. https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.rfnsp.v33n3a02.
OBJECTIVE: to describe the current situation of the Health plans of four indigenous organizations of the Vaupés territory in the Amazon region of Colombia. Methodology: search, collection, critical reading and analysis of content of the planes integrales de vida -development plans- of four indigenous organizations of the Vaupés territory. A comparative analysis was done with the development plans of the municipalities. RESULTS : the health sections of both, the planes integrales de vida and the municipal development plan, are unspecific texts without strategic planning. The enunciation of actions in Health is poor, and don't facilitate the monitoring and evaluation. DISCUSSION: there are difficulties in Health Planning in territorial institutions and indigenous organizations. While this situation persists, it's very difficult to implement the required interventions to improve the health situation of indigenous people. It's mandatory that governmental, non-governmental and academic institutions generate integrated actions to improve this situation.
